Duir

Four individual pieces come together as one whole. The Duir table is beautiful and functional.

Each part can be pulled away and used independently and every table showcases the beauty of oak in a different way.

The largest table is scorched, giving an ultra dark colour and tactile texture. The smaller dark table is ebonised through a natural reaction from tannins present in Oak. The remaining two pieces showcase Oak in its raw, natural beauty. All of the curves on the table legs were shaped by hand.

The Duir table draws inspiration from the Ogham character for oak. Ogham was the first written language of the British Isles and was based on native trees and plants.

This table is as much an homage to Oak as it is to Ogham. Animating the story of the tree alphabet in a contemporary, physical form. It is a reminder of a time where we were living in greater alignment with the other organisms with whom we share this land.
